about

This song is dedicated to the miners out there. I live on a hill overlooking the Gallows, The Hole, and The Hill of Butte, America(Montana). I have a great respect for mining. I lived in the first ever gold mining town in America. "Dahlonega, GA Circa 1838". It was the first real gold boom, and was where the phrase "There's gold in them thar Hills", was coined. I have always respected hard work and I would think Mining(especially older mining), has to be some of the hardest. "Dedicated to all miners and their families who are missed and miss them"

lyrics

Richest Hill on Earth

The richest hill on Earth
Feels like the poorest in Hell
Try so hard to be good
And things don’t go so well
Mine carts hauling away time
Down a frigid rail
What you know is not new
What is sold is not for sale

Chorus

And, it’s a long way from home(3 repeats)
But, it’ll be fine
And, it’s cold, oh so cold(3 repeats)
But, one day the sun will shine

Verse

This town is made by men
Blood, sweat, and rock
Might be the nails that you drove
Sealing your pine death box
So much cold and snow
For so-so long
Makes the hardest man brittle
If he doesn’t right his wrongs

Chorus

And, it’s a long way from home(3 repeats)
But, it’ll be fine
And, it’s cold, oh so cold(3 repeats)
But, one day the sun will shine

Verse

Lower me down to Hell
On this gallows frame
The warming of the day’s sun
Will never be the same
But, with this lingering cold
What are we supposed to do
Lower me down one more time
Hope I come back to you

Chorus

And, it’s a long way from home(3 repeats)
But, it’ll be fine
And, it’s cold, oh so cold(3 repeats)
But, one day the sun will shine
